Thirdly, how you use your classic auto can have a great bearing on your insurance. A standard classic auto insurance policy may only cover you whilst driving to and from classic auto shows. It you intend to use your classic car for more than this then make sure your policy covers you.

The regional court of Duesseldorf earlier this month issued a preliminary injunction, made at the request of Apple Inc. (AAPL), barring Samsung from distributing its Galaxy Tab 10.1 touchscreen tablet throughout most of Europe, except the Netherlands.

The device--released earlier this summer, and which runs on Google Inc.'s (GOOG) Android operating system--is widely considered to be the most promising competitor to Apple's iPad, which has dominated the market since its release last year. Apple claims Samsung copied its products.

In April, Apple sued Samsung in a California court, alleging the South Korean manufacturer infringed on its patents and "slavishly" copied its designs. Legal battles between the Cupertino, Calif., company and Samsung have since circled the globe, with filings in various Asian and European countries, as well as the International Trade Commission.

Acer Iconia Smart coming to Germany in September, €499

Acer Iconia Smart, the super-long gadget we saw at the MWC, is taking its sweet time to get to the European market, but we finally have an estimated arrival date. Acer Germany posted on its Facebook that the Iconia Smart will be arriving on German shelves in September.

In case you've forgotten, the Acer Iconia Smart is an Android smartphone with a whopping 4.8" screen with ultra-wide 19:9 aspect and 1024x480 pixels resolution. It will launch with Android Gingerbread, running on a Snapdragon chipset with a 1GHz Scorpion CPU. It also features an 8MP main camera. For more, check out our hands-on encounter from our MWC 2011 coverage.

The Iconia Smart will sell for €499 ($710) and at least one German web shop has it listed. Exansys UK's web site also has the Iconia Smart for pre-order, but they've announced no details (price, release date, etc.).

My Nokia Blog. new Nokia N9 release countdown

A few days back Nokia had put up a countdown on the Swedish version of the N9 website, counting down the last 50 days prior to the launch of the new N9. But the countdown has now been pulled down, as noticed by a reader of My Nokia Blog.

There was no official announcement from Nokia when the countdown went live so as expected there was none when it was taken down. Perhaps Nokia changed its mind regarding the launch of the phone on the aforementioned date or perhaps it’s just the countdown that has been taken down for now and they are still planning to go with the original launch date.

Whichever it is, we hope the phone is launched soon. We would certainly like to spend more time with the N9 than we managed to do during our hands-on.

Celox looks like a mixture between the I9103 Galaxy R and the I9100 Galaxy S II.

We've uncovered an image and some specs on an upcoming Galaxy S II smartphone carrying an LTE radio. The information, originally from Korea, claims that the smartphone codename is Celox.

And the LTE radio (100Mbps/50Mbps downlink and uplink) won't be the only things that set the Celox apart from its mortal Galaxy S II sibling. According to the rumor, the new smartphone should be based on the Qualcomm APQ8060 chipset, which features a dual-core 1.2GHz processor. The Celox should also have a larger, 4.5-inch , WVGA SuperAMOLED Plus display and a 1750mAh battery.

The rest of the specs should be similar or identical to those of the regular Galaxy S II - 8MP camera, TouchWiz 4.0, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and so on.

As far as the styling is concerned, the Celox looks like a mixture between the I9103 Galaxy R and the I9100 Galaxy S II.

We'll certainly be keeping an eye out for more rumors about this one, so stay tuned!

SM7 sedan South Korean unit of Renault

The French carmaker, which bought a 70% stake in Samsung Motors back in 2000 to spearhead the brand's expansion efforts in the developing Asian region, said the SM7 will have a "radical effect on the big saloon car market".

Developed over a time of 32 months, with R&D investments reaching some 400 billion South Korean won (€207 million), Renault Samsung Motors' new sedan model enters the local market seven years after the launch of the original, Nissan Maxima-based SM7 in 2004.

The new SM7 has grown in size offering improved interior space over its predecessor. According to the company, knee room for rear passengers is up by more than 70mm over the previous SM7.

Renault Samsung Motor's newest creation is powered by the third generation of the Nissan VQ engine series. The SM7 can be specified with one of two VQ engines: a 2.5-liter V6 delivering 190HP and 243Nm (179.3 lb-ft) that returns a combined fuel economy of 9lt/100km (26.1 mpg US), and a 3.5-liter V6 producing 258HP and 330Nm (243.4 lb-ft), which returns 10.4lt/100km (22.6 mpg US) on the combined cycle.

Both engines are hooked up to a standard six-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift function.

Renault Samsung Motors CEO Jean-Marie Hurtiger had this to say about the firm's new flagship model:

"[The] All-New SM7 is Renault Samsung Motors' new flagship and delivers everything customers expect of a big premium saloon, including refined, luxurious styling, exceptional quality, and outstanding comfort and driving pleasure thanks to the contribution of the Renault-Nissan Alliance's world class technological expertise. All-New SM7 will set new standards in Korea's big family saloon car market."

The company said prices for new SM7 range from 30 to 39 million Korean won (€19,724 to €25,641), while that of the previous SM7 ranged from 28.8 to 37.7 million Korean won (€18,935 to €24,786).

The problem lies in the automatic transmission software, which can cause damage to the gearbox’s secondary shaft if the driver quickly changes between Reverse, Neutral and Drive.

"If the bearing is damaged in this unusual scenario, it can cause the engine to stall or lead to difficulty engaging the parking gear," Honda said in a statement, adding that no injuries or deaths have occurred due to the malfunction.

The solution is a software update that slows the transition between gears thus reducing the possibility of damage.

Starting August 31, Honda will notify owners of the affected vehicles to have the transmission control software updated by its dealers free of charge.

New FR+ Cupra R in the Leon's Range

The Leon FR hatch is now available with a 1.4-liter TSI petrol developing 125-horses and linked to a manual transmission only, or a 2.0-liter TDI diesel with 140-horsepower and the choice of either a manual gearbox or a DSG dual clutch automatic transmission.

The FR badge adds new front and rear bumpers, twin chrome exhaust pipe, trademark silver-painted door mirrors, LED rear-light clusters, sports seats and steering wheel, rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights and auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

The previous FR models have been renamed to FR+. Buyers can choose between a 211HP 2.0-liter TSI petrol and a 170HP 2.0-liter TDI CR diesel.

In addition to the FR's standard features, the FR+ trim adds 18-inch ‘Ibera’ alloy wheels; the SEAT Media System 2.2, which includes satellite-navigation with five-inch colour touchscreen, DAB radio, Bluetooth audio streaming and SD card slot; Bluetooth phone connection; Bi-xenon headlights with AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System) and front parking sensors.

Seat says that while the retail cost of the extra equipment when specified separately is £2,465 RRP, the price of the new Leon FR+ is up by only £1,070 RRP.

Prices for the revised FR lineup start at £18,205 RRP for the Leon FR 1.4 TSI 125 PS, and rise to £22,615 RRP for the Leon FR+ 2.0 TDI CR DSG-auto 170 PS.

Along with the changes to the FR range, Seat also added some new standard features to its flagship 265HP Leon Cupra R model, including a SEAT Media System 2.2, Bluetooth connectivity, Bi-xenon headlights with AFS and LED rear-light clusters.

The additional equipment not only comes at no extra cost, but Seat actually reduced the car's price by £10 to £25,995 RRP.

Huawei unveiled its latest Android device and it promises to be one of their 'sexiest' smartphones yet. The Vision is a stylish droid that fits in at the upper end of the Huawei's smartphone portfolio and has a promising spec sheet that matches its sophisticated image.

The Vision will come running Gingerbread 2.3 and totes a 3D carousel UI, which is in fact a modified version of SPB's Shell 3D launcher. The device's construction consists of an aluminum alloy uni-body which measures just 9.9mm thick at its thinnest point and weighs in at a reasonable 121g. It uses a 3.7" capacitive display on the front and a 5MP camera with a single LED flash on the back, capable of 720p HD video recording.

The story with Android has been quite similar these last few years: manufacturers seem to always be on the run to deliver bigger, faster, better, devices with more specs inside than anyone can humanly memorize. Dual-Core processors, 4.3″ screens, 3D displays, HD video recording… are all interesting, except they target what? maybe 5-10% of the users. The rest, well, they get very confused and somewhat overwhelmed with these features. They want a phone, that’s it. Maybe they want Facebook in there, a camera of sorts, and email would be a nice plus. For those, the Samsung Galaxy 5 is perfect.

The Galaxy 5 is the smartphone brother of the iconic Samsung Corby, a device with a simple design, dedicated keys for calls, quite limited features in terms of camera and other hardware, but it packs Android Eclair 2.1 instead of Samsung’s dumbphone OS. But the question is does this mix work?

Recently, we told you that Ufone Pakistan will be launching HTC Flyer in coming weeks and today they officially launched HTC’s first ever tablet in Pakistan, and they are the first network in Pakistan to introduce it. HTC Flyer is an Android powered tablet running on Android 2.3 a.k.a Gingerbread along with HTC Sense UI, which makes the tablet experience amazing. HTC Flyer is now available at selected Ufone centers and they are offering it for 63,000 rupees ($740) but the good news is that it comes with free data SIM and free unlimited internet and SMS for a long time period of six months, now that’s really a good news. HTC Scribe pen is also included in this price. Well, it’s a little expensive and a leading online store in PK is offering the Wi-Fi version for only 47,000 rupees, but getting it from Ufone gives you free unlimited internet and SMS, so if you want to get a 3G model then get it from Ufone because internet is very expensive in Pakistan and this package will give you unlimited internet free for six months along with free SMS.

WP7 version of Galaxy S II and it will be Samsung’s first ever Mango device and guess what?

A few days ago, we reported that Samsung will be launching the WP7 version of Galaxy S II and it will be Samsung’s first ever Mango device and guess what? Microsoft officially unveiled the Samsung upcoming device during the Microsoft Worldwide Partner conference this Tuesday and the device looks a lot like the SGS2. As you can in the image above, it features three traditional WP7 buttons (Home, Back, Search) and you can see it’s running on WP7. The device is thin and beautiful like the SGS2 and it seems that it features the same Super AMOLED display. Microsoft didn’t tell us about the specs of the device but I hope it will be cleared soon when they will officially launch WP7 devices in September.

This device will come as a successor to Omnia 7 which is considered as one of the best WP7 devices available in the market. As SGS2 is rocking the Android world at the moment, I am sure that this device will be one of the most anticipated Mango devices. Microsoft’s Andy Lee also confirmed that HTC, Acer, LG, ZTE, and Fujitsu will also launch new WP7 devices this year. So anyone out there looking forward to the WP7 brother of SGS2?

We are lucky to get our hands on the LG Optimus 3D which is the world’s first 3D phone and the world’s first 3D smartphone. The 3D experience does not require you to wear 3D glasses as the phone packs a glassless/glassfree 3D display. You can also capture 3D Video footage and pictures talks to the 3D Stereoscopic camera on the back.The phone was announced this year at Mobile World Congress and the unit we are currently playing with looks a lot more stable and polished. The phone has a pretty big 4.3 inch display with 4 touch sensitive backlit keys below the display.

HP recently launched their first ever WebOS tablet which is known as HP TouchPad. TouchPad seems to be a good tablet and it was launched in USA earlier this month. Now it looks like HP is planning to expand their TouchPad line, according to a roadmap leaked by PreCentral. HP will be launching 64GB Wi-Fi version of TouchPad with white glossy finish and it will feature a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, instead of 1.2 GHz. It will be a good deal for people who are looking forward to a sexy version of TouchPad with more internal memory and I think 64GB is more than enough for a tablet, no?

Another good news is that HP is also planning to launch 4G version of TouchPad. It will be launched as HP TouchPad 4G, it will be available in 32GB version and it will support AT&T HSPA+ network. It will be available in black glossy version like the original and probably there will be no difference between this and 32GB Wi-Fi version, only addition of the 4G radio. HP is making it a better choice for people who want to surf on the web right on the go as Wi-Fi version is only limited to your home, office or any other place with Wi-Fi network, but I am sure you will be able to check out the your email or Facebook any where you want with this upcoming 4G tablet.

Now some bad news, we recently told you about the HP Opal which is going to be a 7-Inch WebOS tablet and we heard that it will be out next month but the roadmap is telling us that it will be out in fall. Maybe we heard wrong before as this leaked shot is a “confidential HP product”, but let’s take it with a grain of salt. Another bad news is that Pre 3 is also coming in fall but maybe this is only for US as it’s up for pre-order in UK and scheduled for mid-July launch, so let’s see what happens.

The latest update (2011.07.05) for Foursquare for Android brings new notification tray that lets the users keep track of friend’s check-in, comments, tips, badges etc. This update also brings new settings that is redesigned to enable or disable the notifications similar to the Foursquare web application.

Access the new notification tray from the top header bar to view comments on your check-ins and photos, Facebook friends joins foursquare, when you earn extra points etc.
Change the notification settings from the notification tray header.
Mute the notifications for an hour or until the next day morning.
Enable or disable the app or e-mail notifications from the settings.

Some of these notifications are only available on the app and not sent as e-mail. The notifications are also available on the Foursquare website and coming to iPhone and BlackBerry phones soon.

No pause and rewind. Fast forward instead and rebrand. The Sony Ericsson W8 is an Xperia X8 in Walkman guise. There's not even a hint of surprise about it. The Sony Ericsson W8 has no new tricks up its sleeve. It’s a year old droid with an ear for music. And this droid has a smile on its face, knowing it has no tough battles to fight or anything to prove. Safe in the knowledge that it may as well kick the snot out of most mp3 players out there.

Walkman has been lying low, the Sony Ericsson Yendo the closest they've been lately to a headline-grabber. Compared to the Yendo dumbphone, the W8 is a Swiss army knife. An 8.9" screen hits the sweet spot for tablets and LG's Optimus Pad shows good thinking. The first tablet of the company will want to make a difference among more or less uniform rivals. Tablets coming to the market look almost the same - screens, hardware, OS. There is very little room for experiment, but LG are keen to disagree.

3D is more of a fun show-off feature to have on the side - but LG has taken that very, very seriously. We already met with and were impressed by the Optimus 3D smartphone. Its tablet sibling didn't get an actual 3D screen, but it can take 3D stills and videos. Anaglyph 3D viewing is enabled with a standard pair of polarized glasses.

The Optimus Pad is based on the powerful NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipeset - the only one currently compatible with the Android 3 Honeycomb (though this is supposed to change with the upcoming 3.2 update). Its 8.9" TFT touchscreen of 1280 x 768 pixel resolution and 32GB of internal storage don’t sound too bad either. The imaging skills are the highpoint on the spec sheet.

The Galaxy S lineup is no stranger to versioning - the original Galaxy S relied on half a dozen different editions to achieve its market success. Its successor will obviously take a similar path as we just got its first body double in the face of the Samsung I9103 Galaxy Z. With Tegra 2 stepping in for the Exynos chipset and SC-LCD taking the place of the new generation SuperAMOLED Plus, the Galaxy S Z should be covering for the cases when the Galaxy S II is just slightly out of budget, while at the same time saving on the precious AMOLED panels.

Now, the Samsung I9100 is obviously a winning formula so Samsung should be extra careful with any changes that it introduces.

Tegra 2 is a fine alternative to Exynos and we already know what kind of performance to expect. We’ve seen the switch to SC-LCD before – with the I9003 Galaxy SL. With the numbers the SuperAMOLED Plus packing I9100 is selling, it’s no surprise that Samsung will try to sell a few units that don’t use up their scarce SuperAMOLED recourses.

Dressed to kill and with a fresh coat of paint on the interface, the Nokia X7 is keen to show there's still fight left in Symbian. The screen is a definite high point and the stainless steel body is fashioned like a stealth jet fighter. Symbian Anna adds in features that have been lacking in the OS, closing the gap on the competition.

The Nokia X7 combines stainless steel and Gorilla glass into one seriously attractive package. It boasts stereo speakers (just two, rather than four as you might think looking at it) to justify its Xseries spot and an 8MP camera with 720p video recording.

The screen impressed us quite a bit as you'll see in our hardware chapter but that's not all we liked about the hardware. The software changes are not as far-reaching as we would have liked, but there are some key developments that that give Symbian a usability boost.

HTC has a flair for big names but Sensation sure is something else. The name simply sticks. We're talking a monster 4.3" S-LCD screen with qHD resolution (540 x 960). If the bump in resolution doesn’t mean much to you, picture this – the Sansation’s 4.3-inch screen has the same pixel density as a much smaller 3.7" screen with regular WVGA resolution.

Apple iOS 5 review

It's June again, time for Apple to make headlines. The WWDC is over and the iOS 5 and the iCloud are now official. It won't be before the fall though that the iOS 5 will officially launch.

However, Apple has given us a taste of the iOS 5 by releasing a developer preview soon after the announcement. We went on to update an iPhone 4 with the beta release and we are ready to share our first impressions.

But before we continue, let's take a look at the most important features to premiere on the iOS 5.

Notifications - real time on-screen notifications, lockscreen notifications and pull-down Notification Center
iMessage service in the Messaging app enabling instant messages to other iOS users

Typically, there's still plenty of stuff missing and some of the things will probably never make it to the iOS. Here is a list of the things we continue to miss:

iPhone is the top selling phone on Verizon and AT&T

Even though the iPhone 4 was launched on Verizon’s network just five months ago it is already their top selling phone. 51% of the Verizon stores said that the iPhone 4 was their top selling phone while 38% said that it tied with an Android phone, which would usually be the Samsung Droid Charge or the HTC Thunderbolt. This, despite being over a year old now and very close to the launch of a newer model.

At AT&T stores, the iPhone was again in the lead, with 65% of the stores saying it was their top selling phone while 31% said that it tied with an Android phone.

What this means is that as a platform iOS may be trailing behind Android in terms of market share in the US but as a single model it outstrips almost every Android smartphone out there.

As for other platforms, they can be barely spotted in the diagram above. Only a handful of the stores that were asked, that too only those belonging to AT&T, said that a BlackBerry or a Windows Phone 7 device was the top-seller. This points to a lack of interest in both the platforms, with the former struggling to survive and the latter struggling to find its feet.

Nokia N9 Review

day's smartphone scene is one of fierce competition and breakneck growth. Rarely though do announcements get any bigger than this. The Nokia N9 seemed forever stuck in rumorland, but never lost its grip on users' minds. The handset is rightfully enjoying as warm a reception as it would have had if it had been announced a year ago.

And you can easily see why: a spanking new OS based on some pretty impressive (and novel!) concepts, sleek unibody design, some decently powerful hardware (even if the N9 missed the dual-core train) and that magnificent 3.9" curved AMOLED of FWVGA resolution is a package that's hard to resist.

We got our hands on this baby today, and although our meeting was brief, it was enough for it to earn a special place in our geeky hearts. The Nokia N9 is an excellent device based on an exciting UI concept and boasting some sleek hardware. But what casts doubt on it is the claim that it represents a dead end in the smartphone tree of evolution.

But let’s not get all emotional now, the thing isn’t even on the market yet. And it looks like the right thing to help Nokia through the hard transition period in the second half of 2011. What we know for sure is we would love to have more whence this came from.

On paper, the Nokia N9 looks like solid, if not spectacular. As soon as you set eyes on the real thing though, there's no mistaking a smartphone that will reach for the top rather than settle for anything less.

The premium finish and the outward curved screen are nothing short of outstanding. And the great news is that the good impressions don't end with the exterior. We were pleasantly surprised by the MeeGo Harmattan platform and starting to doubt whether switching to Windows Phone 7 was the only option available to Nokia.

are still wondering what could have been if Nokia had gone for Android rather than WP7 as their main platform. Well thanks to a leaked prototype today we have the chance to get a glimpse of that alternative universe, where Nokia likes its smartphones full of green droids.

The prototype resembles the recently announced N9 and the Nokia WP7 prototype that we saw yesterday. It is running on a stock version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but judging by the size of those icons its resolution might be higher than WVGA.

Now there's always the chance that the images could be fake. Yet they come from the same source that brought us Nokia's first WP7 device back in May, which turned out real yesterday we feel we can trust him on this one too. In the end, we will never know what it could have been, so this leak could be as much a closure as we are going to get.

Samsung are really taking tablets seriously these days. They already have three offerings this year. The other two are more compact, but it's the Galaxy Tab 10.1 that will lead the team ahead in enemy territory. The trio surely has one hard task ahead of them, but let's see how the eldest brother fares now.

The largest of the company's tablets offers more screen estate and larger battery, while at the same time maintaining the impressively slim waistline. There’s a Tegra 2 chipset ticking under the hood so you get the latest and greatest in mobile chipset technology.

As you can see, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is nothing else, but a slightly larger 8.9 so the only question remaining is which one would suit your style better. And while we find the 8.9" size more versatile, it was the the 9.7-inch iPad that made the tablet class mainstream so it’s a good guess the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will probably have a wider reach.

Plus Samsung introduced some last minute touches to its largest slate, which should help it fare even better. At the eleventh hour the company announced that it will come with an even larger battery (7000mAh) and 30 grams lower weight than initially announced and that it will be getting DivX and XviD support. It seems like a good way to give an already competitive device an even bigger edge over its competitors (though in the case of the Tab 10.1 the edge is slimmer).

Introduction

Time to lace up the gloves and step inside the ropes again. A new dual-core competitor, the HTC Sensation, is challenging the current crop of flagship droids with its fast new chipset, high-res screen, sharp-eyed camera and that classic HTC charm much of which is owed to the latest iteration of Sense UI.

We already took a lap around our review track with the Sensation but now the usual suspects will line up for a straight forward drag race. There'll be a series of dedicated tests and one simple rule: the first phone across the line wins.

This is a dual-core rematch and this time focus will be more on the new kid, the Sensation, than the rest, which we've already covered.

Different features have different value to people, so we'll have a series of tests: for the screen, the performance, the camera, GPS and battery. Based on those you can pick your own champion. We'll try to pick an overall winner but it's impossible to single out the ultimate best.

For one, the metal-rich construction of the HTC Sensation puts it a step ahead of the mostly plastic-made competitors. The qHD resolution is very near the distinguished Retina display, but the screen is a massive 4.3-incher, quite bigger than the iPhone 4’s.

Also, the Sense UI 3.0 is very polished - there's hardly a nook or cranny left without eye-catching graphics and 3D effects. Underneath all that gloss is tons of functionality too, like the phonebook or the awesome new lockscreen. But you'll have to have a look back at the review for a description of those, today it is all about the high-octane performance.
